Dear Miss Morgan,
I feel very sorry that I can’t attend the lecture on American History on tomorrow afternoon. Actually, I have been expected to participate activities like this for a very long time as it can give me a better understanding of American culture. However, a friend of my will come to China for the first time, so I have to take him up at the airport. I’m afraid I can attend the lectures on time. By the way, do you have a record of the lecture? If so, would you please borrow it to me such that I can make up for the lecture. Thank a lot!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

Today I took part in the English singing competition of our school. Most of the singers and audience had there when I arrived at the hall. See the large audience, I started to feel little nervous. After some times, it was my turn to sing. When the host read my name out, the audience burst into a great cheer, and my heart began to beat really fastly. The song I sing was Country Road, that is a very famous piece of American country music. I had practiced for it many times, and I didn’t think I had done a very good job. Anyway, I was still very excited because of participating was the most important thing to me.

Today our school invited Mr. Bill, who is teaching in a college of our city, to gave us a lecture on how to improve our reading ability. He talked in simple English. Whenever we couldn’t understand him, he explained us again and again. Sometime he presented something importantly
on the computer. I put forward a question of how to deal with new words. Some other questions on English study were too raised up by my classmates. All of us learned many about the basic reading methods from this lecture. We have made up our mind to reading more so as we can improve our English.

Now, I’m studying in a rural high school. Since the conditions are not so good, yet my teachers are very strict with me. I’m working hardly at my lessons in order to live up to my parents’ expectations. After class, I have to do all everyday things on myself, such as wash clothes and so on. I am tired and happy.
I will enter the college after graduation. College life will very different from that in high school. I hope to have a happily and colorful life in college. I wish I could take part in various kind of activities in my spare time instead of doing a lot of homework. I think I will make good use of the library to read books that I am interested.

Some people argue that one cannot succeed if he works very hard. There are many example to show that success comes from hard work. One example is it of Madam Curie who had been working hard all day and night before her finally success. Other people thinks that luck and opportunity are much important than hard work. They point that even if one works hard, he cannot succeed without luck and opportunity. For an example, a film star could never famous I f she was not given a chance to play a role in the film. Personally, I think all hard work and good luck are important for one’s success.

(Text 10)
Most Americans enjoy eating fast food. Five years ago, I liked eating fast food, too. I weighed 170 pounds then. One day, I read a report about Alice Waters, and I decided to change how I eat.
Alice Waters opened her French restaurant in Berkeley, California when she was 27 years old. Today it is considered one of the finest restaurants not only in the US but also around the world. Unlike other restaurants, her restaurant encourages people to eat healthy food. She buys fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers and prepares them in a healthy way. Alice Waters even started a movement called “slow food”, to try and encourage people to prepare food in the more traditional, slow
manner — and avoid fast food.
Her story greatly inspired me and I realized that eating healthily is very important. Since then, I’ve tried my best to avoid fast food. Now I seldom eat out, and when I do go out, I order only healthy food. Now I weigh just 130 pounds.

However, I am not familiar with your district, so I will be really grateful if you could help me. I want to rent a 80-square-meter house where the fee is about 2500 yuan per month and where there is basic furniture. If everything (來自:www.zuancaijixie.com 蒲公英文摘:yesterday短文改錯)is OK about the house, I will rent it for two years.
If you find such a house, please reply to me, and I will move into it as soon as possible. Now, I am looking forward to your good news.

Yesterday I watched a circus show. A girl rode an one-wheeled bike on a small table with a lot of flower on it. She didn't knock down even one flower. Some little dogs also did a better job. One of them can calculate the number!
The most exciting program was see a young man walk the tightrope. He stood on a rope with a balancing pole in her hands. On his head sat a little girl. Another two girls sat on the red belt tying to either end of a steel bar on his shoulder. The young man took his first step of great care. Every viewer held out his breath. At last he succeeded in walk across the 8-meter-long tightrope.
