Question:
The following appeared in a letter sent by a committee of homeowners from the Deerhaven Acres to all homeowners in Deerhaven Acres.
"Seven years ago, homeowners in nearby Brookville community adopted a set of restrictions on how the community"s yards should be landscaped and what colors the exteriors of homes should be painted. Since then, average property values have tripled in Brookville. In order to raise property values in Deerhaven Acres, we should adopt our own set of restrictions on landscaping and housepainting."
范文:
In this letter sent by the committee, we can not consider that the suggestion is concluded under the full investigation and logical reasoning.
First of all, there is not enough proof to verify that the tripling of average property values of Brookville was regarding to the restrictions they adopted. There are a lot of reasons making your house property increase its value. Maybe in these seven years, the population in Brookville increased rapidly but the number of houses remained. Or maybe the banks in Brookville encouraged the consumers to buy a house not to rent by providing a lower rate loan that also can increase the house value. Or even maybe the tripling of the house value was just a tendency in these seven years, it also increased where no restrictions was adopted.
To say the least, assuming the restrictions is the main reason for the house value increasing in Brookville; you also can not transplant these experiences to Deerhaven Acres easily. Brookville and Deerhaven Acres are neighbors, but there are a lot of differences between them. One successful experience in Brookville may be a very mistake in Deerville Acres. For example, maybe the houses in Brookville arranges in order and have the similar styles, the unite restrictions make them clean and more orderly. But these restrictions will be useless if the houses in Deerhaven Acres distribute randomly.
To sum up, it is too early to get the conclusion that restrictions on landscaping and housepainting like Brookville are needed. A further investigation is a prerequisite to make the final decision.
