          已故的濟(jì)南詩(shī)人孔孚在他的《答客問(wèn)》中寫(xiě)道:“請(qǐng)教泉有多少/你去問(wèn)濟(jì)南人的眼睛吧/愿聞濟(jì)南人的性格/你去問(wèn)泉水吧⋯⋯”誠(chéng)實(shí)的眼睛,泉水的性格――這不就是天下泉城的名片嗎?
          
          濟(jì)南的泉水從泰山北麓的“南部山區(qū)”罅罅隙隙點(diǎn)點(diǎn)滴滴地儲(chǔ)蓄滲透北來(lái),匯集成五大泉群,派生出72名泉,又?jǐn)y手流進(jìn)護(hù)城河、大明湖,靜靜地在小清河集合,流入黃河,流向黃海。這泉水不知從何時(shí)起汩汩流淌,流過(guò)了秦皇漢武,流過(guò)了唐詩(shī)宋詞,流過(guò)了胡適老舍,如同這個(gè)城市的心臟一樣一秒不停地跳動(dòng)著,便給這個(gè)城市帶來(lái)了新鮮的生命、靈動(dòng)的清明。被山、泉、湖、河圍繞著的這座古老城市便叫泉城。
          厚重的傳統(tǒng)來(lái)自悠久的歷史,精彩的文化源于精彩的人文!昂S掖送す,濟(jì)南名士多”:這里自古人文薈萃;“四面荷花三面柳,一城山色半城湖”:這里景色與眾不同。傳說(shuō)中遠(yuǎn)古的大舜曾在歷山躬耕,齊國(guó)的政治家鮑叔牙、神醫(yī)扁鵲、孔子的賢徒閔子騫、經(jīng)學(xué)家伏勝、陰陽(yáng)家鄒衍,都是濟(jì)南人。公元184年,曹操曾任濟(jì)南國(guó)相。唐朝的名相唐玄齡,名將程咬金,從小都在濟(jì)南長(zhǎng)大。同為唐宋八大家的曾鞏、蘇徹都做過(guò)齊州(即濟(jì)南)的知州。蘇軾留下過(guò)“濟(jì)南春好雪初晴,行到龍山馬足輕”的詩(shī)句,他的學(xué)生黃庭堅(jiān)則稱(chēng)贊“濟(jì)南瀟灑似江南”;蘇軾的另一個(gè)學(xué)生晁補(bǔ)之也做過(guò)齊州知州,他續(xù)修了曾鞏在大明湖興建的北渚亭,并寫(xiě)了賦和序。豪放派和婉約派的兩大代表詞人辛棄疾、李清照同出濟(jì)南,留下了“濟(jì)南二安”的美稱(chēng)和南豐祠、水仙祠等多處遺跡。元代著名的全真教教主丘處機(jī)在濟(jì)南修建了長(zhǎng)春觀(guān)。大詩(shī)人元好問(wèn)有“羨煞濟(jì)南風(fēng)景好”,“不辭長(zhǎng)做濟(jì)南人”的愿望,元代散曲家張養(yǎng)浩的故宅“七聘堂”的遺址在濟(jì)南市的省府前街。明代前七子之一的邊貢,后七子領(lǐng)袖李攀龍,詩(shī)人殷士儋、于慎行也都是濟(jì)南人。清初大學(xué)者顧炎武曾因文字獄受株連在濟(jì)南下獄,在《濟(jì)南》一詩(shī)中以“湖上荷花歲歲新,客中時(shí)序自傷神”言志,并借對(duì)杜甫、辛棄疾、李攀龍的緬懷,抒發(fā)了“老淚無(wú)端痛古人”的離黍之悲。大詩(shī)人王士禎則在大明湖畔創(chuàng)建過(guò)秋柳詩(shī)社(此次大明湖擴(kuò)建,修復(fù)了秋柳詩(shī)社舊址),有“濟(jì)南山水天下無(wú),剩水殘山還自殊”和“歷下亭中坐懷古,水洗橋畔臥吹笙”的偏愛(ài)。那位多年不第的私塾先生蒲松齡曾經(jīng)在大明湖畔創(chuàng)作他的《聊齋志異》,他有詩(shī)云:“大明湖上就煙霞,峁屋三椽賃作家。粟米汲泉炊白粥,園蔬登俎帶黃花”?梢(jiàn)這位老秀才當(dāng)日的清貧,今天讀來(lái)仍令人酸楚。還有一位在亂世中云游四方的劉鶚,他在《老殘游記》里隨意寫(xiě)下的濟(jì)南“家家泉水,戶(hù)戶(hù)垂楊”,已經(jīng)是家喻戶(hù)曉老幼皆知了。
          濟(jì)南的歷史文化古跡,從有四千多年歷史的城子崖遺址到五三慘案蔡公時(shí)殉難處,僅市級(jí)以上的文物保護(hù)單位有121處。
          我這個(gè)南方人來(lái)山東已經(jīng)近50年、搬來(lái)濟(jì)南也快30年了。無(wú)論從國(guó)內(nèi)或國(guó)外哪個(gè)城市回到濟(jì)南都覺(jué)得踏實(shí)和溫暖。我在網(wǎng)上看見(jiàn)一則民謠說(shuō):北京人把外地人都看成是下級(jí);上海人把外地人都看成是從農(nóng)村來(lái)的;廣州人把外地人都看成是北方人;大連人把外地人都當(dāng)成是沒(méi)有看過(guò)海的⋯⋯濟(jì)南人則把所有來(lái)濟(jì)南的外地人都當(dāng)做老鄉(xiāng)。這個(gè)民謠自然有些調(diào)侃的成分,但其中透露出的濟(jì)南人老實(shí)、本分、待人真誠(chéng)的品德,則是符合實(shí)際的。前年濟(jì)南出租車(chē)司機(jī)劉彥友遭歹徒搶劫身負(fù)重傷,歹徒在搏斗中也受傷倒地,劉師傅的妻子開(kāi)車(chē)把他們兩個(gè)一起送到醫(yī)院,并為那個(gè)歹徒交付了醫(yī)藥費(fèi)。此事在全國(guó)傳為美談。多年前一個(gè)上海游客投書(shū)文匯報(bào),說(shuō)他在濟(jì)南11路公交車(chē)上丟了一個(gè)皮夾,里面裝有他的證件、現(xiàn)金和當(dāng)晚返滬的車(chē)票,司機(jī)讓他返回趵突泉橋邊去找,果然有個(gè)孩子在等著他,并指示他在近旁一個(gè)垃圾箱里找到了丟失的證件車(chē)票(錢(qián)當(dāng)然是沒(méi)有了,孩子也撒腿跑了)。于是這個(gè)讀者感慨地說(shuō)了一句“濟(jì)南的小偷心也蠻好的”。這句貶中有褒的話(huà),也讓濟(jì)南人有點(diǎn)尷尬甚至哭笑不得啊。
          濟(jì)南人不欺生、不做大,不蠻、不滑、不賴(lài),這是有口皆碑的。濟(jì)南是一座有文化、有正氣、有尊嚴(yán)的城市;一座榮譽(yù)感極強(qiáng)的城市。她地處京滬之間,東濱韓日,西通中原,交流頻繁,信息豐富。隨著京滬高鐵的修建和黃河三角洲的開(kāi)發(fā),濟(jì)南還有更大的發(fā)展空間。地理的優(yōu)勢(shì)使她容易接受外來(lái)的新鮮事物,然而厚重的文化底蘊(yùn)又使她不敢去簡(jiǎn)單地模仿,因而有時(shí)便顯得有些遲鈍、保守。有人稱(chēng)山東是“中華民族的長(zhǎng)子”,也許就是因?yàn)樗羞@些特點(diǎn)吧。
          去年的第十一屆全運(yùn)會(huì)讓濟(jì)南的城市面貌有了一次大改觀(guān):天更藍(lán)了,樓更高了,路更寬了,燈更亮了。富麗堂皇的東荷西柳體育館,寬闊大氣的經(jīng)十路,擴(kuò)建了三分之一的大明湖和湖內(nèi)新修的28座長(zhǎng)橋和宏偉的超然樓,西南郊占地近3000畝、集國(guó)內(nèi)外70余座城市主要景點(diǎn)的園博園,全長(zhǎng)108公里、居全國(guó)第一的繞城高速公路⋯⋯和精彩壯觀(guān)的全運(yùn)會(huì)開(kāi)幕式,讓全國(guó)人民看到了一個(gè)發(fā)展中的濟(jì)南,一個(gè)更加美麗的新泉城。歷史的傳統(tǒng)和現(xiàn)代的生活和諧并存,儒家的文化與泉水的溫柔使?jié)媳虮蛴卸Y、和藹可親、淳厚可信、與時(shí)俱進(jìn)。

          誠(chéng)實(shí)的眼睛,泉水的性格――這不就是天下泉城的名片嗎?
          
          Citizens of Jinan never bully or cheat strangers and never behave in an arrogant way, never being rude, crafty, or rascal. This comment is of universal recognition. Furthermore Jinan is a city of deep culture, high integrity and respectable dignity. Shehas a strong sense of honor. She is located inbetween Beijing and Shanghai, to the east of South Korea and Japan, linking the central plains of China. Thus she has the merits of large mobile population and affluent information. Along with the construction of Beijing-Shanghai express railway and the development of Yellow River Delta, Jinan has greater potential for further development. The geographical advantage enables her to embrace new ideas and products easily. However, the deep culture foundation keeps her from imitating others at will. So sometimes she appears slow and conservative. Maybe because of these characteristics, some people regard Jinan as “the eldest son of the Chinese nation”.
          The 11th National Games in 2009 showed a new look of Jinan: bluer sky, higher buildings, broader roads, brighter lamps. Chinese people saw a more beautiful city of springs under development through the successful National Games’ opening ceremony and the grand East Lotus and West Willow Gymnasium, the broad Jingshi Road, the fantastic Daming Lake which was enlarged for one third, with 28 newly built bridges, the and magnificent Chaoran Building, the large Garden Show Park which covers an area of about 3000 acres and collects major sight spots of over 70 cities, and the convenient around-city highway which is No.1 in China. The historic tradition is in harmony with the modern life style. The confucian theory and the gentleness of spring water give Jinan an image of politeness, kindness, honesty, sincerity and also advancing with the times.
